Ohio's Department of Education conducts an annual performance assessment for all of the schools in the state. Four measures of performance are used in the evaluation: state indicators, a performance index score, adequate yearly progress, and a value-added measure.
This data is presented in the form of a "report card" which indicates the grades for each district, as well as individual schools in the district. There are six designations which can be assigned: Excellent With Distinction, Excellent, Effective, Continuous Improvement, Academic Watch, or Academic Emergency.
